The construction of the Yacahueque River Storage Dam aims to regulate the river flows, so that they can be used to guarantee the supply of water in dry season to agricultural crops in the valley of the Carrera de Yeguas municipality area. , located downstream of this dam, as well as expanding the current irrigation area with the future use of new technology, up to around 40,000 tasks.
The Yacahueque River Storage Dam Construction Project consists of the construction of an earthen dam 34.50 meters high and 275 meters long.
The objective of the Las Dos Bocas project is to convey water from the storage dam, at the site called Las Dos Bocas, upstream of the confluence of the El Cale and Dos Bocas rivers, to the storage lagoons of the Vallejuelo Pressurized Irrigation System -Jorgillo.
This important work is made up of the construction of the Pipeline of the project, and a second stage corresponding to the construction of a Diversion Dam for it. The objective of this project is to provide the facilities so that the surrounding communities (Jorgillo and Vallejuelo) can irrigate their crops all year round. This boosts the economic activity of the area.

El Llagal Dam
It consists of the construction of the El Llagal tailings dam up to an elevation of 265m with its respective closing dikes SD1, SD2 and SD3. They are a series of rock fill dams and are designed as tailings and water retention dams with a low permeability core, filter zones downstream of the core, and rock fill consisting of compacted limestone. The Llagal Lower Dam (“LL”) will ultimately be built at a crest elevation of approximately 265m and will have a final height of approximately 155m.
Mejita Dam
It consists of reinforcing the wall of the old Mejita dam with rock material and filling and closing its cover with common material.
The Project consists of the construction of a conventional concrete dam on the Guayubín River, in the Province of Santiago Rodríguez, to the northeast of the Paraje de Pastor and to the southwest of the Paraje de San José.
The Project is located in the Santiago Rodríguez Province, 10 km. Sabaneta and consists of a main concrete dam with an approximate height of about 39.65 m above the Guayubín River with a spillway designed for a flow of 1,280.00 m³/s and a lateral closure dam made of rockfill and clay core with variable heights, in the left bank.
The purpose of the Project is to increase the guarantee of water supply to the areas currently under irrigation, supply water to areas that, even with the required infrastructure, are not cultivated due to lack of water, incorporate new areas, supply drinking water and , in the future, to install a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 2,000 KW.
